Historic Ormiston House Wednesday July 31 Historic Ormiston House is regarded as the birthplace of the Australian Sugar Industry. The beautiful house is considered to be one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in Queensland. The meticulously restored house, expansive grounds and beautiful gardens overlook stunning Moreton Bay to the East. Upon arrival we will be served morning tea, and then have a tour of the house. Back on the bus and a quick trip out to the Old Cleveland Lighthouse for a look up to the lighthouse, around the reserve and the views out to sea. We will then drive a couple of minutes back into Cleveland and have lunch at Queensland’s Oldest Licensed Pub. Built in 1851, the Grand View (the GV to the locals) overlooks beautiful Moreton Bay. BLACKBUTT AVOCADO FESTIVAL

The whole town comes alive!
Enjoy the drive out to Blackbutt through beautiful countryside. Once there wander the town and enjoy the fun and games, at the annual Avocado Festival. Watch the AVO-ROLL. where contestants roll a round "Reed" avocado towards a pin. The winner gets $1000 cash and the glory of being the best avo roller in town. The "Avo Roll" has become the highlight of the festival, alongside many other Avo-Games. You can expect to see avocados matched with live entertainment, arts activities, kids’ activities, a street parade, market stalls, Helicopter rides and the famous Avo Drop. The AvoDrop is an interactive event where parachutists jump from 5,000 feet and attempt to grab a marker as they land inside the drawing of a giant avocado inside the festival, Avo-Fest is a free event for all ages where you can enjoy the freshest and finest avocados from professional growers and home-grown products from the region's smaller growers.
